Robert Mueller Dazed After Top Republican Catches Him In A Lie

Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s entire Russia investigation was nothing more than a two-long scam that failed to give Democrats their chance to remove President Donald Trump from office.

In an effort to keep their Trump-Russia collusion theories alive, Democrats hauled in Mueller to testify on Wednesday about his report.

But it backfired on Democrats badly when Georgia Republican Rep. Doug Collins caught Mueller contradicting his own report.

During his testimony before the House Judiciary Committee, Collins exposed Mueller for saying one thing in public, but another in his own Russia report.

In his opening statement, Mueller stated: “We did not address collusion, which is not a legal term. Rather, we focused on whether the evidence was sufficient to charge any member of the campaign with taking part in a criminal conspiracy, and it was not.”

Collins began by asking Mueller whether “collusion” and “conspiracy” had equal meaning.

“No,” Mueller responded.

Then, Collins read Mueller’s own report to him:

“On page 180 of volume one of your report, you wrote, ‘As defined in legal dictionaries, collusion is largely synonymous with conspiracy as that crime is set forth in the general federal conspiracy statute, 18 U.S.C. 371; … Are you sitting here today testifying something different than what your report states?”

Since the president was cleared of conspiracy, that meant no collusion.

“Are you contradicting your report right now?” the Georgia Republican demanded.

At first, Mueller seemed to resist.

“No, no, if you look at the language…” he began.

“I’m reading from your report sir. It’s a yes or no answer,” Collins countered.

Mueller, perhaps realizing that he had just contradicted himself under oath, struggled to explain why he was saying one thing in public and another in his report.

Mueller eventually admitted that the interpretation in his report was the correct one, but it certainly appears that he had no idea what was in his own final Russia report.

WATCH:

Democrats and their anti-Trump allies have been desperately clinging to hope that Mueller’s testimony will give them the opportunity to impeach Trump.

But Mueller’s lackluster performance didn’t deliver the goods and has Democrats scrambling after their stunt to make him testify backfired.

Aside from that, Mueller’s report clearly vindicates the president and squashes the Democrats pipe dream of impeaching the president.

After a two-year investigation, Mueller has stated — both in his report and during his testimony — that his team found no evidence that Trump, his campaign, or any American colluded with Russia during the 2016 presidential election.

Back in April, Attorney General William Barr also said he consulted with Rosenstein and that they both determined there was no evidence to charge Trump with obstructing justice in the Russia probe.

Barr and Mueller have made it clear that there is no evidence of collusion or obstruction of justice.

The president has been completely vindicated after the two-year Russia probe, and Mueller didn’t do Democrats any favors with his bizarre and lackluster performance.
